On July 29th, 2020 Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order Number 20-180 suspending some residential evictions through September 1, 2020. On its face the moratorium seems to be just another extension of the rules halting residential evictions for non-payment of rent. But several important changes were made in this newest Order which will allow landlords to file evictions and possibly get Final Judgments where they otherwise may not have been able to.
